It feels like forever since I’ve written an entry. I have been so busy at work that time is measured from conference call to conference call. Inspiration for topics that doesn’t spiral into a tirade about work has been tough. But today I am inspired!
I was taking a mental health break from work and I read this article out on the MSN home page called “Me, On Shuffle.” (Hopefully the link I inserted will work.) It is an article taken from Esquire magazine written by a guy named Chuck Klosterman. I love the way it’s written. It’s basically about a guy who hates being asked the question “What kind of music do you like?” I felt like I could relate, since I hate trying to come up with an answer for that one too.
His response to this question was freakin hilarious as far as I’m concerned. Sarcasm is always appreciated. Since he couples this topic with how much he hates making small talk, I have decided that I am most likely in love with him. Yay! Just in time for Valentine’s Day. What a relief. He also gets introspective and breaks down a list of songs that he likes and what he likes about them. His attention to detail puts me to shame, I must say.
If you have a chance to view the article, I would recommend it highly. If music isn’t your thing, then …..I don’t even know how to finish that thought.

His article reminds me of something John Cusack's character would ramble about in "High Fidelity" ... only more obscure, if that's possible. I enjoyed the blog and the article!
Yes! You're right! I love John! You know, I even wore my I Love John Cusack t-shirt to a Super Bowl party this year. I'm not a sports fan, so I went with movie fan instead. Woo!!
Ha! I didn't understand half of what he was talking about - mostly because it was way too technical for me. I need a Music For Dummies book to follow all of his jargon about the individual songs. For being a descendent of the "music man," I'm terribly illiterate when it comes to musical instruments! But I did appreciate the sarcasm.
