Fast Forward

I can’t believe how fast time is flying past me lately. I’m being consumed by work. It’s not fun right now, so I really need to think about a spot in the future to look forward to and be happy. Yesterday I received the perfect message. Keane is coming back to the US in May.

I had to get up at 5am to get online and buy tickets for the show in LA. Ok, I probably didn’t need to get up that early. They weren’t going to sell out in the first 15 minutes. I don’t care. I wanted to make sure I have good seats. So it all worked out well and I have that part done.

I have managed to talk Heidi into coming with me. I don’t know what to expect from that. She and I don’t exactly listen to the same music. Just like everyone else I have dragged to a Keane concert (Lori, Marienne, David) she knows the one single they had and that’s it. That’s fine with me. She says she is going so she can see me completely freak out. I would hate to disappoint her.

Next up is finding a hotel. Now, I tried this once before with bad results. I think we all remember my meltdown last fall when they cancelled their dates. Well, I am going to keep a positive attitude that it isn’t going to happen again. So, I will begin the hotel search sometime when I am not completely swamped with work. Hopefully, that won’t translate into waiting until I get to town the day of the concert.

I also have some time to start to ease Heidi into the pre-show freak out. Basically, I am going to have to convince her that getting there several hours early is a GOOD thing. I think I am going to have an uphill battle with that one. At least it should be nice weather. I remember when I saw them in Dallas one summer. It was so freakin’ hot and humid waiting outside. Luckily, it was an indoor venue; otherwise I might have passed out.

Anyway, I know I am babbling at this point. I’m just glad I have a bright spot to think about in the near future. So far, I am staying true to form. This will be the 6th concert and once again I am seeing them in a new location. I have yet to repeat the city or venue. Mimi- if I thought I could make it happen, I would totally come to Chicago and see them there. If I wouldn’t drive you completely nuts, you might even want to go with me!

Well Dave has a Keane album and he LOVES concerts, so if you want to see them with me in Chicago, I'm sure it would have to be a threesome. I would love to see you in Keane-mode!! (Should I be frightened?)

Nah. I'm pretty harmless until you try to get between me and the stage. Then you should be frightened.
